About Éliane
Born and trained in France, Éliane embarked, in her mid-teens, on a lifelong passion for hairstyling. Her career subsequently brought her to travel and explore fashionable trends and techniques around the world. Settling in Vancouver in the early 80's, she opened her first salon in 1982. Hers rapidly became one of Vancouver's most popular hair salons and with a growing clientele, it was soon relocated to a larger locale, on West 10th Avenue. Twenty-five years later, following a devastating fire in a nearby business, éliane Hair & Spa was forced to relocate. Today, the salon has a new home, still in the Point Grey area, just up the street from its former location. Along with a smaller staff of hairstyling and esthetics professionals, éliane Hair & Spa is considered one of Vancouver's leading establishments in the industry.

About Shin-Ae
Shin-Ae came to Vancouver from South Korea early in the new millennium. Seeking Vancouver's leading hairdressing training salon, she was proud to find a position at éliane Hair Design where she participated in an extensive in-house apprenticeship program supplemented by regular training workshops in New York, London, Toronto and Vancouver.

From the start, Shin-Ae has had a passion for this creative profession and a commitment to attaining higher standards. Becoming Éliane's Business Associate was a dream come true and the opportunity to be part of a professional, focused and client-oriented salon.

Shin-Ae looks forward to supporting a very motivated team and a truly inspiring leadership. Most of all, she welcomes the privilege to serve a loyal clientele.

The team
With an extensive in-house apprenticeship program and regular training workshops abroad in London, Paris, NewYork, Éliane strongly believes in supporting emerging hairstylists, and enriching the experience of established professionals. Every member of her Global Award winning team is committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and competence in their trade, and is dedicated to the creative vision and success of the salon. Not surprisingly, the team's moto is to educate itself so that it can better educate its clientele. The result is a team of highly versatile, technically and creatively strong stylists, in all aspects of hairdressing. The numerous awards the salon has received over the years (Inter-Coiffure Mondial; 4 times laureate of Vancouver Magazine's Best Salon in Vancouver Award), eloquently confirms their success.

The location
The physical space at the newly opened éliane's Hair & Spa is inviting and comfortable; the atmosphere serene and friendly. Sensitivity to environmental issues is reflected in the use of natural material, in the design, and the use of high-quality hair and body care products from the Aveda line.

The corporate citizen
Éliane is an active member of the West Point Grey community. Dedicated to a healthy, safe and caring neighbourhood, she is personally and professionally involved in actively supporting many charity events in her community.

Awards
June 2006- Éliane wins the Global Salon Business Award for
Canadian Salon Entrepreneur of the Year.

Over 1700 salons and spas worldwide were nominated for entry in the 2006 Global Salon Business Awards www.salonbusinessawards.com.
The UCLA Anderson school of Management, and Price Center for Entrepreneurial studies independently conducted the judging. The renowned judging panel included academicians, leading business experts, international trade media and industry leaders who made their selections from the 400 competing entries submitted from 21 countries throughout the world. Éliane won Salon Entrepreneur of the year for Canada for all areas of salon leadership, client philosophy/ marketing, community involvement, and general management.

Éliane is nominated for the Westside Award of Distinction for Community Service by the Kitsilano Chamber of Commerce.

Éliane received the Best Beauty Salon and Spa Award from The Vancouver Courier.

Éliane
Née en France, où elle reçoit sa formation, Éliane se découvre dès l'adolescence une passion pour la coiffure. Celle-ci la guidera tout au long de sa vie et aux quatre coins du monde, dans une quête sans cesse renouvelée des tendances de l'esthétisme et des techniques les plus novatrices. Établie à Vancouver depuis le début des années '80, elle y ouvre son premier salon en 1982. Ce dernier gagne rapidement en popularité et, pour répondre à une clientèle sans cesse grandissante, Éliane s'installe bientôt dans un local plus grand, sur la 10è Avenue Ouest. Vingt-cinq ans plus tard, et suite à un incendie dans un commerce voisin, Éliane se voit forcée d’emménager dans un nouvel espace, toujours dans le quartier West Point Grey. Aujourd’hui, grâce à une équipe plus modeste de professionnels de la coiffure, éliane Hair & Spa demeure l'un des salons les plus réputés de Vancouver.

La vision créatrice
Dès le début, Éliane conçoit l'idée d'un salon à l'atmosphère raffinée et chaleureuse, au service soigné et courtois, et où seront prodigués des soins professionnels qui valorisent la beauté naturelle. Elle réalise son rêve en 1989 avec l'ouverture de son salon Concept Aveda où, invariablement, chaque client reçoit des soins capillaires et esthétiques de qualité supérieure et un service personnalisé hors pair.

L'Équipe
Avec son programme de formation aux apprentis et la participation régulière de ceux-ci à des ateliers de perfectionnement (tels ceux de l'Académie Vidal Sassoon à Londres, New York et Paris), Éliane encourage, soutient et enrichit l'expertise de la relève et des professionnels établis de la coiffure. Chaque membre de l'équipe, par son engagement au maintien de soins haut de gamme et sa participation à la réalisation d'une vision créatrice commune, contribue activement au succès du salon. Par leur solide expertise technique et leur grande versatilité créatrice, ces stylistes reflètent bien la philosophie du salon : "Mieux s'éduquer pour mieux conseiller". Les nombreux prix et reconnaissances professionnelles reçus au fil des ans (le prix "Mondial Inter-Coiffure"; 4 fois lauréats du prix "Meilleur Salon à Vancouver" décerné par le Vancouver Magazine), font foi de ce succès.

Le lieu
L'intérieur est confortable et accueillant; l'atmosphère cordiale et détendue. Par l'intégration de matières naturelles dans le design du salon, les propriétaires démontrent bien leur souci de l'environnement. Dans cet esprit, on a misé sur des matériaux naturels et l'utilisation de produits capillaires et corporels de la ligne Aveda.

Le citoyen corporatif
Éliane s’engage professionnellement et personnellement dans sa communauté de West Point Grey. Par le biais de causes et d'événements charitables, elle contribue activement au maintient d'une communauté saine et sécuritaire, où il fait bon vivre.
